The concept of this cake was conceived some time before its creation. Here this cake’s purpose was to go to wedding shows to display design and sugar-crafting skills.
On it first outing it overwhelmed one lady and her finance as they love this type of this and are planning a honeymoon in Mexico, this then became one of our shortest consultations as we only needed to discuss flavours, when & where.
As you can imagine, this is a labour-intensive cake to make with only the making and painting of the head and the sugar-crafted flowers being able to be done in advance. The skull, made from Rice-crispies covered in chocolate and then hand-painted. The red roses were created petal by petal, as were the purple daisies; this work alone took over 30 hours.
