We chose this unusual shape and included feathers, ribbon and rhinestone buckles to add a bit more ‘bling’. The selected flavours were Lemon Drizzle, Raspberry & Hummingbird – a combination of passion, fruit, pineapple & banana. The vital statistics were each tier was 4” giving a cake height of 12”
As you might imagine this is a very labour intensive cake, none of which could be done in advance. Baked, filled and covered on Monday, then refrigerated overnight. Tuesday the cake was covered in soft fondant icing and the stitching begun working from the top down. Wednesday, Thursday & Friday were again ‘sewing’ days.
